On Wednesday , 22nd September 2021, Hon. Bintou Fabiola Zongo the Honorary Consul of the On Wednesday, 22nd September 2021, Hon. Bintou Fabiola Zongo, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Burkina Faso paid a familiarization visit to the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Ghana to formally congratulate me on my appointment as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Ghana.
I also used the opportunity to congratulate my counterpart for having been appointed as well as the new Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to neighbouring Burkina Faso.
Our discussions as Sister Consuls were not only fruitful but also important for strengthening the already bond of friendship between the two countries on one hand and also our countries and the Republic of Indonesia on the other hand.
The talks were aimed among other things at how we could work together to literally bring Indonesia to Ghana and Burkina Faso and the vice versa for the economic and socio-cultural benefits of the three countries. We also discussed how citizens of the two sister nations could take advantage of the KNB Scholarship scheme of Indonesia in 2022 to pursue fully-sponsored disciplines in that country in order to better their lot. We noted that Ghana and Burkina Faso had not benefited much from such a scholarship scheme in the past hence the need to put measures in place for the realization of this objective.
As Honorary Consuls, we noted that we operate within similar environments with almost the same economic, social and cultural potentials and practices hence the need to work closely to exploit these potentials for the mutual benefit of all and sundry.
We were also of the view that the time had come for us to foster much more closer collaboration amongst one another and our governments in the sub-region and beyond in order to realize the vision and goals of our peoples and countries in this 21st century of ours.
